It’s been a while since I’ve posted any new art work, so here’s what I worked on in April.
First, I did a tile that’s intended as a wedding present. Last summer when my cousin Kurt got married, my life was in turmoil. Not only were we unable to attend the wedding, we had no income to get Kurt and Lizzie a gift. Now that things are more settled I’ve been more creative, and this is what I came up with for a belated wedding present. It’s a 6″ x 3″ tile that will hang on the wall with a green ribbon.
Of course I had to do one for my cousin Alison, who bought a home and also got married last summer. I was inspired by pictures of her wedding flowers which I tried to recreate in my cartoon-y style, only I’ll admit the hot-pink flowers weren’t part of her color scheme. They just feed my need for a trademark pop of contrasting color.
These two tiles are not for sale, but I’ll display them at Art Walk tonight as an example of the custom work I can do.
Finally, I made a new Zen-tile. This one’s a Zen-Butterfly, motivated by that trip to the Jacksonville Zoo. It’s a 3″ x 3″ fridge magnet; that is, after I glue on the magnet.
Yes, it’s for sale. Get it for $5 at Art Walk tonight!
